We’re sad to sell our little trailer, but it has served its purpose for this past chapter of our lives as we look for our next trailer. We purchased the trailer new from the factory in April, 2022. We spent a few months renovating and then took the trailer on a few extended trips…

  1. Through Canada to Alaska for a few months.
  2. Down to Texas and the Gulf of Mexico.
  3. Up the California coast to Seattle and back to Utah.

Everything is clean, in good shape, and ready for the next owner to take out camping immediately.

2 tires are new with less than 500 miles on them. The other 2 tires are only a few months old. The bearings and axles were serviced at a professional shop a few months ago.

No water damage. No water leaks.

The advantage to traveling full-time in an RV for a while is that you would notice any issues and we addressed everything that came up promptly.

We wanted something small enough to tow with our Ford Expedition, but large enough to take on extended trips. It fits into a regular parking spot but still has enough space to sleep all 6 of us (2 adults, 4 kids) along with all our necessities, including bikes, kayaks, sports toys, fishing equipment, sand toys, etc.

The storage space inside the trailer is small but sufficient to hold a week’s worth of clothes, coats, jackets, extra shoes, swim clothes, etc. And with the added washer/dryer, we didn’t even have to take more than a few changes of clothes.

The kitchen and fridge were large enough that we could go 1-2 weeks without stopping at a grocery store.

Our Instagram channel includes several videos that showcase theses renovations. Scroll back to November, 2022 to see the videos.

Plugged the extra floor holes where the tables fit with custom 3D printed plastic plugs, but they can be easily removed to insert the metal table legs and tabletop (which we will include).

This trailer is a boondocker’s dream! We’ve camped for several weeks at a time without ever plugging into an RV park or running a generator. Obviously that depends on the amount of sun exposure and how much you use electricity, but the lithium batteries last a long time!

Renovations include over $12,000 in products and enhancements (not including parts and labor costs)…

Bathroom

  • Removed plastic shower insert and added lightweight marble Dumawall tiles. ($550)
  • Added a curved shower bar and shower curtain to add to the space. ($100)
  • Removed bathroom sink in order to use plumbing for washer/dryer.
  • Added washer/dryer with storage cabinet above. ($2,400)

Front Bed

  • Added a top level bunk bed. ($500)
  • Added real mattresses. Why do manufacturers ship with lumpy cushions they call mattresses?? ($300)
  • Added fun landscape mural wallpaper. ($175)
  • Added hooks and baskets for basic storage.

Kitchen

  • Swapped the smaller 2-way 6 cu ft fridge with the latest Dometic 12v 10cu ft fridge. ($1,800)
  • Swapped the countertop with butcher block. ($250)
  • Added a tall cabinet on the side as a pantry. ($150)

Windows

  • Swapped the cheap factory blinds with roller blackout blinds. ($150)
  • Created custom window blackout covers for 3 windows with reflectix on the outside and black material on the inside. ($100)

Garage Bed

  • The HappiJac bed was pre-installed at the factory, but with the help of an engineer, we beefed up the bed to support more weight. We also extended the bed a few inches to hold a full-size residential queen sized mattress instead of a narrow RV mattress.
  • Added privacy blackout curtains. ($300)

Storage

  • Added lightweight Ikea cabinets for clothing storage. ($650)
  • Added a shelf for extra shoe storage below the window.

Electrical

  • Swapped the mousehole electrical cord with a twist lock 30amp connector. ($100)
  • Added an inline EMS (surge protector). ($190)
  • Swapped the lead acid batteries with 2 Lion Energy Safari UT batteries. ($1,800)
  • The solar panel and inverter were pre-installed at the factory.
  • Everything is monitored via bluetooth with the Victron app on our phone.

Aesthetics

  • The ceiling was a dark brown and the cabinets were a lighter brown. It made the space feel dark so we painted them white. It doesn’t look completely whitewashed though, because we were intentional about adding warm butcher block countertop in the kitchen and wood on the beds. We also used the decor (bedding, curtains, baskets, pillows) to add back some color.

Exterior

  • Swapped the basic fans with MaxxAir fans. They move a lot of air very efficiently! ($1,200)
  • Swapped the entrance door frosted glass with a sliding blackout blind. ($75)
  • Swapped all locks (entrance door, rear garage door, storage cabinet, tongue tool box, and auxiliary gas door) with matching RVLock locks. 1
  • key opens all locks. ($300)
  • Removed the lead acid battery holder on the front tongue and added a toolbox for storing RV supplies like chocks, electrical cords, etc ($250)
  • Added backup and side cameras that can be viewed from the tow vehicle ($600)
  • Replaced the standard hand-crank tongue jack with an electric jack ($190)

Not Included (but can be negotiated with sale)

  • Beddys bedding on all 3 beds is not include
  • Queen sized mattres on HappiJac bed is not included
